Albert Haynesworth gossip could all be a mere smoke screen

by Roland Johnson on February 26, 2009

With all the reports hitting the world wide web over the last 72 hours, speculating that the agent for Albert Haynesworth, Chad Speck was seen having dinner with Daniel Snyder the owner of the Washington Redskins, could there truly be a deal already in place? Well this follower of pertinent news believes so. In fact it would not be a shock an awe type of event or reaction to see an eerily similar announcement at 12:01 am, to that, of the Buccaneers signing of free agent center Jeff Faine last year.

The Redskins would have to ink Haynesworth to the richest defensive deal in league history, which with there current cap status, I just don’t foresee happening. The ripple effect of such a move would cause the team to cut certain players from there roster such as DE Jason Taylor, CB Shawn Springs and even RB Clinton Portis who was rumored to be on his way out last year.

While you can never truly read the tealeaves is such hostile environment such as NFL free agency, I think Hasynesworth and his agent are merely trying to drive the price up on would be suitor.
