LeGarrette Blount a rookie from Oregon has been inactive through the first two games since being claimed off waivers from the Titans. However, he was active against the Steelers. Blount entered into the game during the first quarter and promptly gained 12 yards on his first carry. Blount showed a nice burst through the hole and physicality, on initial contact as he was hard to bring down on the first hit. He finished with four carries on the drive and had 26 yards rushing for an average of 6.5 yards per carry. He wasn’t seen again until the score was out of hand late in the fourth quarter as he was inserted into the lineup down near the goal line as the Bucs punched the ball in for a meaningless touchdown. Blount finished his debut with 27-yards on 6 carries and 1 touchdown.
On the one-yard touchdown run, Blount showed a good second and third effort to punch the ball over the goal line. After witnessing what Carnell Williams has done through three games and what Blount was able to do in limited action against arguably the top rushing defense in the league. Its time to see what Blount can due as the starting tailback.
