Bucs frontrunners to land Culter?

by Roland Johnson on March 19, 2009

According to Dave Hutchinson, of the StarLedger.com, the Buccaneers are one of two teams that are frontrunners to land embattled QB Jay Culter. Hutchinson reports that Bus Cook the agent for Culter has the tension at an all time high with his remarks to NFL.com on Thursday. Cook basically told NFL.com that Pat Bowlen the owner of the Denver Broncos, promised Cutler that the offensive staff would remain in tact after coach Mike Shanahan was fired.

If indeed this is true then it stands to reason, that Culter feels betrayed not necessarily by new head coach Josh McDaniels, but rather the owner of the Broncos Pat Bowlen. Which is most likely when this whole sage began. With recent comments by Bowlens willingness to entertain the idea of moving Culter it is not hard to fathom that Bowlen is the one behind the turmoil that started shortly after the firing of Mike Shanahan.
