Bucs get first look at rookies

by Roland Johnson on May 2, 2009

First glimpse at rookies, brought the excitement level up a few notches around the Bay area today. There has not been this much swirling thunderous news well since, hell a long time. Everything from news on Jason Taylor, Derrick Brooks, undrafted free agents, Josh Freeman, to interviews with Raheem Morris, Jeff Jagdonzinski, and Jim Bates along with news footage of Freeman placing the football between two defenders and his receiver hauling it in for a long touchdown.

All the videos over at the teams main site Buccaneers.com are worth checking out if you haven’t already. Also check in with the crew over at PewterReport.com at they have plenty of stories filed from today’s practices.

A shameless plug for the hard working staff at PewterReport.com, if you are a fanatic and are looking for behind the scenes can’t find anywhere else type of hard hitting accurate informative tell it like it is news then I recommend you sign up for there insider coverage.

Some of the more interesting story lines from camp today include, the route running and tenacity of 7th round pick receiver Sammie Stroughter.

Jason Taylor is still an option for the Bucs, as the team will continue to look to bolster there pass rush.

Never say never when it comes to the former face of the franchise Derrick Brooks returning to the team, even though it seem less likely the team has left the porch light on for the future Hall of Famer.

Both Josh Freeman and camp invite QB Rodney Landers looked impressive in workouts today.

If you are looking for photos of today’s practices the main site has a decent set as well as the crew over at the St.PeteTimes.com has a collection of today’s practice.

While this fanactic is pumped for training camp, since there are no pads and no contact it is hard to gauge how well the players will look in camp, but none the less without much else to get excited about, any news this time of year is a welcomed bonus.
