Tampa Bay Buccaneers second year linebacker Geno Hayes, is
competing on the strong side in Jim Bates version of his 4-3 defense. In the most recent Bucs Insider video on Buccaneers.com, Hayes can be seen lining up on what would amount to be the strong side. Hayes who is coming off a knee injury, which sidelined him for most of the second half of the 2008 season was consider a canadate to compete for the weakside backer position with the release of Derrick Brooks.
While it is not known for sure if he is competing with Angelo Crowell or Quincy Black on the SAM side, but it would shake things up a bit, as many media pundits felt or speculated that Hayes was battling with Captain Calcium on the weakside.
