Bucs invite hopefuls to rookie mini camp

by Roland Johnson on April 29, 2009

Updating a previous report, the Buccaneers list of tryout players and undrafted rookie free agents continues to grow. In years past the team signed street free agents to compete with the rookies and few tryout players, it seems like Mark Dominik has gone back in time as the amount of players linked to the Bucs rookie mini camp, which will be held May 1-3, is growing.

S Marshall McDuffie (FIU)
S Terrence Moore (Troy)
OL Rob Bruggeman (Iowa)
DE Neefy Moffett (FSU)
DB DeAngelo Willingham (Tennessee)
QB Rodney Landers (JMU)
OG Maurice Miller (Mississippi)
OG Andre Douglas (Temple)
RB Josh Vaughan (Richmond)
DL Rashaad Duncan (Pitt)

LB Maurice Crum (Notre Dame)
S CJ Byrd (Georgia)
WR Tommy Saunders (Missouri)
LB Tokumbo Abanikanda (Southern Miss)
CB Melvin Rice (Northern Illinois)
LB Nathan Williams (Murray State)
CB Evan McCullough (James Madison)
DE Jarriett Buie (South Florida)
OT Marc Dile (South Florida)
TE Cedric Hill (South Florida)
OT Demar Dotson (Southern Miss)
OL Dion Small (Troy)
TE Chris Zellner (Miami)
P Matt Fodge (Oklahoma State)

With the current restraints on roster limits set at 80 players for training camp, look for the team to sign between 6-8 of the above mentioned hopefuls to contracts with the hopes of finding a  diamond in the rough at training camp.
