There is speculation brewing throughout the media, that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Luke McCown is in serious danger of not making the roster with his lackluster performance thus far throughout

Don Banks, of Sports Illustrated.com lays out a scenario in which Leftwich is named the starter and Josh Freeman and Josh Johnson are the safe ones.

24. Luke McCown, Tampa Bay – No team’s quarterback depth chart appears as fluid as the Bucs’ right now, but we’re operating on the belief that Byron Leftwich will eventually beat out McCown for the starting job. The tricky part is, with youngsters Josh Freeman and Josh Johnson thought safe, McCown could go from No. 1 to gone if Tampa Bay doesn’t opt to carry four quarterbacks.

Most everyone though that Leftwich would be the one too walk the plank, me included. But it now seems very likely the team is so intrigued by Josh Johnson that a veteran could be traded or released just not the one that it was initially thought to be by fans and the media.
