Bucs set to play on celebration sod

by Roland Johnson on March 24, 2009

Justin Wallace, of Worldgolf.com is reporting the Buccaneers will be playing on a knew field this fall. Earlier this month the team had celebration Bermudagrass installed at Raymond James Stadium according to Jimmy Allen the owner of Pike Creek Turf.

The celebration sod has finished best in research studies looking at drought resistance & recovery, wear tolerance, divot-injury recovery and shade tolerance according to Allen.

While it is unsure if this is part of the master plan as it pertains to the team celebrating more touchdowns come this fall, is sure can’t hurt.
