Bucs sign three former USF players

by Roland Johnson on May 4, 2009

Greg Auman, of the St. Petersburg Times, is reporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed three undrafted rookie free agents from USF DE Jarriett Buie, OT Marc Dile and street free-agent WR Amarri Jackson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Jackson spent time in camp with the Bucs in 2008.

Raheem Morris and receivers coach Richard Mann weighed in on Jackson.

“It’s a ‘wrong situation, wrong time,’ maybe, last year,” Morris said. “Maybe he’s in the right situation, right time this year. He’s got the best chance in the world looking right at him in the face right now. Amarri Jackson came in here and impressed last year. He’s come in this year and done the same thing.”

“It’s a guy growing up, maybe having a year off and you (Jackson) make a decision what you’re going to do,” Morris said. “His decision was to go home, keep working, get ready to come back and play.”

“He made some impressive plays on me last year and I would go over there and give him a couple jabs,” said Morris, a high-motor coach on the field. “The guy has done nothing but impress.”

“I liked him last year, always have,” said wide receivers coach Richard Mann. “So there’s nothing different. He’s the same guy. I know what he was. That’s why he’s here.” Source: TheLedger.com

Jackson, has an uphill battle ahead of him and at this point seems like nothing more then camp fodder.
