The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have invited not one but two veteran
receivers to workout on Tuesday. It is being reported that D.J Hackett, 27, formerly of the Carolina Panthers by way of free agency last season from the Seattle Seahawks and Drew Bennett, 30, who was with the St. Louis Rams last season will showcase their abilities in the hopes of landing a contract with the team.
Bennett played in one game last season with the Rams and totaled one catch for four yards, Hackett who many though highly of last season was active for nine games with the Panthers while starting two. He had a total of thirteen catches for 181 yards & zero touchdowns.
This screams uncertainty about the third receiver spot behind starters Antonio Bryant & Michael Clayton. Even though the team has had glowing remarks for several no names this off-season at the receiver position these recent developments speak volumes of what they are truly struggling with internally when it comes to the lack of depth at the receiver position.
