Bucs to unveil throwbacks

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hold a press conference at One Buccaneer Place on Friday, July 31 at 11 a.m. in the teams auditorium to unveil their 1976 throwback uniforms, which will be worn against Green Bay on November 8.

Several current Buccaneer players will be in attendance to model the uniforms.

Former Buccaneer linebacker Hugh Green, will be inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. Green was drafted No. 7 overall by Tampa Bay in 1981 and made three Pro Bowls and received two first-team All-Pro honors in his first four seasons. Green finished his Buccaneer career with 449 tackles, 15.5 sacks, 22 passes defensed, 5 interceptions and 2 touchdowns. Was traded by Leeman Bennett to the Miami Dolphins in the middle of 1985 season. Green played in in 54 games with 53 starts.

Carnell Williams is recovering from a torn patella tendon he suffered in the final week of the season, but he won’t start another year on the sideline or the PUP list, based on published reports from the St. Pete Times.
