Cadillac Williams Called His Own Shot

by Staff Report on November 15, 2010

Williams breaks loose for longest run since rookie season

Well, if you listen to backup tight end John Gilmore, tell it. Cadillac Williams entered the huddle late in the fourth quarter and turned in a Bath Ruth like moment, by calling his own touchdown run.  The 28 year old 5-foot-11, 217-pound Williams, who has carried the football 92 times for 225 yards this season, and had been boasting a minuscule 2.4 yard per carry average iced the game against the Panthers as he ran 45-yards for a score. It was his longest run since breaking off a 71-yard TD run in his rookie season against the Minnesota Vikings.

Williams finished the game with 5 carries for 62 yards and one touchdown to go along with 2 receptions for 23 yards improved his average yards per carry to 2.96 on the season.
