Free Agency Buzz: Saturday

by Roland Johnson on February 28, 2009

With the Buccaneers making headlines by acquiring tight end Kellen Winslow from the Browns on the first official day of free agency, not much else has happened. There has been very little if any news being leaked from inside the halls at One Buc Place. While many have speculated on who the team might target Mark Dominik & Raheem Morris have been very tight lipped about there actual plan and vision of what they are trying to make the Buccaneers into. We know for sure the team wants to get bigger, more physical on both side of the football it is not a sure bet that any insider has a clue as to what the heck is going on.

Scott Brown, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting free agent receiver Nate Washington has scheduled a visit with the Bucs, it is not known though what the actual date of the visit is.

Stephen Holder, of the St Pete Times is reporting the Bucs are currently in discussion with mount mammoth defensive tackle Colin Cole the 6’1 330 pounder has the size defensive coordinator Jim Bates graves. Cole played for new defensive tackles coach Robert Nunn for the past two seasons.

Michael Clayton update, the Lions, Broncos, Seahawks and Vikings are seemingly chasing fools gold at this point, as reports are Clayton will make visits to each team, but in the end think he is truly learning his real value and will be back in red & pewter before the start of 2009

Matt Bowen, of the NationalFootballPost.com is reporting the Bucs have shown an interest in CB Jabari Greer.
