Griese want’s to be the starter

by Roland Johnson on March 23, 2009

Woody Paige, of the Denverpost.com, is reporting in an article written about the current situation brewing in Denver along with the not so settled qb position in Tampa that pick six Brian Griese wants a chance to be the starter in 2009 in Tampa.

“I don’t want to just hang around the game. I want to be a leader on the field and in the locker room,” he said. “I want to be the starter. I saw (Arizona quarterback) Kurt Warner at a charity event two weeks ago, and said, ‘Thanks from all the older guys for what you did for us.’ ”

I could not help but laugh out loud with the thought of a deep ball passing attack with Griese manning the quarterback spot. With very little left in the tank when it comes to throwing the football down field, even if the Bucs don’t manage to swing a deal for Culter, this fanatic would rather see the team go with either a rookie or Josh Johnson before they let Griese ever see the field on game days.
