From 1976 -1986 the jersey number 93 never surfaced in a regular season game on a defensive player, for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A span of eleven years went by before the number 93 was ever worn.  However, the first player ever to dun number 93 was tight end Mark Witte an 11th round draft pick in 1983 out of North Texas State.

With Roy Miller giving fellow Big 12 foe Gerald McCoy jersey number 93. It stands to reason, that if McCoy can stay healthy and live up to the lofty expectations of being the 3rd overall selection in the 2010 draft. He could quite possible be the first player in the franchises history to star in the number.
