Impact of Steve Logan

by Roland Johnson on April 19, 2009

Recently added running backs coach Steve Logan has a long history of helping quarterbacks achieve a level of greater success. Logan who was the head coach of East Carolina from 1992 – 2002, then spent two seasons as a quarterbacks coach in NFL Europe as well as a stint at Boston College as an offensive coordinator has had a hand in developing such pro’s as Matt Ryan, Jeff Blake, David Garrard, Marcus Crandell, Dave Ragon, & Rohan Davey throughout his various stops along his way.

According to SmartFootball.com, Logan is an underrated offensive coach. Chris, the author of SmartFootball.com was able to get his hands on a video of Logan discussing hot reads & beating the blitz.

Even though Greg Olson was retained as quarterbacks coach, this fanatic wonders just how much of an input Logan will have on the overall passing game since he has a working knowledge of the new scheme & a relationship with new offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski who he worked for at Boston College.

Either way, the addition of Logan along with the other offensive coaches brought in this off-season has been very under publized.
