Tampa Bay Buccaneers second year receiver Dexter Jackson shines

Dexter Jackson makes an early statement
as first day closes. The beleaguered receiver had an awful rookie campaign to put it mildly, but a year of seasoning seems to have the former Appalachian State product focused on the task at hand.
Jackson routinely beat defenders deep, hauling is several deep passes, displaying speed and solid catching ability. Jackson was clearly the most improved offensive player on the field Saturday.
He showed a toughness that was lacking in 2008, dont look now but the team just might have found it’s deep threat.

I agreed on Jackson. He was a surprise for me last night. He struggled getting off the bump, but if he got out on a route, he performed very well. Trick will be getting him past that CB.
Yes, I wonder if he has done a lot of strength and conditioning in the offseason. His upper body seemed very weak last year.
Think most if not all the diving to avoid contact steamed from him never really being hit in college, which was more of a shock to him then anything at the NFL level.
