NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports that the Buccaneers tried pulling a rabbit out of a hat, by approaching the Denver Broncos about a potential trade for QB Jay Culter. Talk about making headlines, wow, if indeed this is true that Bucs GM Mark Dominik, called the Broncos about the availability of Culter, you can’t blame him four trying to pull out all the stops in acquiring talent for the Bucs.
Scuttlebutt was running wild earlier toady involving a three team trade, that had Matt Cassel, Jay Culter and Tyler Thigpen holding there collective breathe as all had there names linked to one of the following teams Lions, Bucs, and Chiefs in some form or fashion. To truly decipher what was involved or the true intention behind such a wacky Saturday morning it can only make ones head feel like a cork on a bottle of bubbly waiting to explode. In the end the only thing that really happened was the Patriots traded Cassel to the Chiefs along with Mike Vreble for the Chiefs second round pick.
There are still reports that indicate the Bucs could be interested in obtaining Tyler Thigpen from the Chiefs to compete with Luke McCown in Tampa.
In other news PewterReport.com is reporting the Buccaneers have schedule a visit with G Cooper Carlisle formerly of the Raiders, Carlisle’s experience in the Raiders zone blocking scheme makes him a natural fit with Jeff Jagodzinksi installing the ZBS in Tampa.
