King Backtracks From 2 Win Season

by Staff Report on September 13, 2010

Famed Sports Illustrated columnist and writer of Monday Morning Quarterback, Peter King side stepped and back pedaled a bit in his most recent kickoff edition of MMQB. Before the start of the regular season, King was one of the many experts who predicted straight out doom and gloom for the Bucs with a projection of just a measly two wins for the famed Pewter Pirates.

Now after one game, is already beginning to back off of his initial prediction and seemingly getting ready to jump aboard the bandwagon after just one game and one win.

9. I think I was wrong about a lot of things in my predictions, as usual, and one of those might have been picking Tampa Bay to win two games. I like what I saw out of Mike Williams Sunday. The fourth-round rookie from Syracuse is an athletic, physical receiver who looks to have tremendous confidence in himself.

As many predicted once the team began winning, albeit, it’s just one win that both the local and national pen and mic club would come running as if they have been touting the Bucs all a long. I say why jump on now, the team and more importantly the fanatics are fine riding the wagon all alone.
