Leftwich contract details

by Roland Johnson on April 13, 2009

John Clayton, of ESPN.com is reporting the two year deal is worth $7.5 million. The contract calls for a $2.0 million dollar salary in 2009 along with a $3.5 million dollar roster bonus to be paid at the start of free agency in 2010 and brings his cap charge to $5.5 million.

Basically, the deal is not worth the paper it was written on, as it is nothing more then a one year trial, as the team has no signing bonus money tied to it and can cut Leftwich at any time with no ramifications.
