Rookie defensive tackle Brian Price, whom the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted in the second round, with the 35th overall selection in this past April’s draft will be counted on against the Saints to help provide a stagnant pass rush with a spark. The Bucs currently rank dead last in the NFL with four sacks are asking Price to rush from the three technique position that Warren Sapp made famous in the hopes he will jump start their pass rush.
“Yeah that is the opportunity that has been presented to me,” said Price. “I’m just thanking God for every opportunity that comes my way. I’m focused on working hard and trying to get better.”
Price who more physically resembles Sapp has seen his playing time increased over the last several games in the hopes that he and first round pick Gerald McCoy can wreck havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
One has to wonder though, if Price is being given more chances at under tackle in obvious passing situations, then where will McCoy be rushing from? Will both players be manning the middle on passing downs or will the Bucs continue t0 move McCoy around in an attempt to confuse opposing offenses?
