With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers concluding their rookie mini camp Sunday afternoon the buzz that was generated from said practices, in shorts, has many fans in the Bay Area frothing at the mouth for this years rookie class. The teams first round pick, Gerald McCoy jumped head first into the fray as a vocal leader during the three days of practice by barking out directions to his line mates in the up tempo practices.
McCoy who talked to Dennis Dillon, of the SportingNews.com at the conclusion of practice on Sunday had a very telling, yet prominent point to make about his new head coach Raheem Morris. After spending the past three days practicing at One Buc Place, McCoy had this to say about Morris.
3. Coach Raheem Morris is on a mission. “Coach Morris is a raw dog. It’s his way or the highway. It’s as simple as that. There’s no lenience. Either you follow directions, or you’re fired. I know he’s determined to make a change around here, and that’s just how it’s going to be. He picked whoever he picked in the draft for whatever reason, but just because you were picked doesn’t mean you’re still going to be here at the end of training camp.”
This fanatic, likes that the rookies were scared straight and told upfront how it’s going to be from the jump. Nothing wrong with knowing and understanding where you stand as a player whether you were a high draft pick or a free agent find.
