Morris: “We’re the best team in the NFC”

by Staff Report on October 25, 2010

After his starting quarterback marched his team down the field to take a one point lead with just 10 seconds remaining on the clock, second year head coach Raheem Morris took a page from current Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s playbook and broached the media in attendance during his press conference with a swagger and bravado as he exuded and air of confidence – as he proclaimed his team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the best team in the NFC. “We’re the best team in the NFC, yeah, I said it.’’ Morris said during his press conference following the game which saw his team come back after being down 17-6 at half time to win 17-18.

No your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you; you read that right the best team in the NFC and no we don’t mean the NFC South. Now there’s nothing wrong with showing a little bit of confidence in a young team, but with the peaks and valleys thus far through six games. Their record might suggest they are in the upper echelon in the NFC, inconsistency is a big issue.
