Even though RT James Lee finished the 2010 season as the Buccaneers starting right tackle, Raheem Morris has anointed recently re-signed RT Jeremy Trueblood the teams starter heading into 2011 reports Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times via his twitter feed. What was supposed to be one of the more hotly contested training camp battles, has all but been wiped out by Morris’ announcement or so it would seem.
Minutes before, Morris made the statement that Trueblood would be the teams starter. He indicated during his morning presser that he’s looking for competition at right tackle. This seems more like Morris’ attempt at lighting a fire under the gluteus maximus of Lee.
This is a development worth keeping tabs on. Especially considering new offensive line coach Pat Morris has an affinity for larger offensive lineman.
