Poison Pill, Double-Digit Player Salary Cuts, & Compensatory Picks

by Staff Report on January 30, 2010

A quick trip around the worldwide web this morning reveals some non-specific Tampa Bay Buccaneers news worthy reading. From the return of the poison pill…to owners seeking double-digit cuts in player salaries…pass rushing productivity…NFL strike history and compensatory picks. We here at Bucs Central would also like to take a brief moment to throw a well deserved plug out to Derek Fournier AKA ” OldSchool”  of  WhattheBuc.com, a local Tampa area pod-caster who continues to hold it down with straight talk on the Buccaneers.

JI Haslsell of Inside The Cap, surmises that with the uncapped year of 2010 upon the NFL, you could quite possibly see the return of the “Poison Pill”.

Robert Boland of the National Football Post has a good write up on the owners seeking a double-digit cut in player salaries moving forward.

Piggy-backing off of Robert Boland’s article that appeared on the National Football Post, Sam of Igglesblog.com wrote an excellent piece on the Gulf between the NFL and the NFLPA.

Pro Football Focus’ Khaled Elsayed talks about pass rush productivity.

AdamJT13, who has had a solid track record of correctly determining which teams will be awarded compensatory picks. Has the skinny on the Bucs and whether or not they qualify for any compensatory picks in 2010.

Bucs blogger Niko Houllis of Bucem.com has an excellent two part series on the NFL Strike History. Part One and Part two.
