Stephen Holder, of the St.Pete Times, is reporting several members of the 2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers received bonuses based on there level of success on the field in 2008. Among those players who received bonuses were LT Donald Penn $310,919 through the so-called performance-based pay system which rewards lesser paid players who perform above what their salary is in a  given season. Penn was rewarded with the highest bonus of any Buccaneer player this season. Others included RT Jeremy Trueblood with $185,113, G Arron Sears with $128,340, and G/C Jeremy Zuttah with $113,209.

FS Tanard Jackson, ranked second on the team with $285,427. WR Antonio Bryant, earned $154,813. Others of note include undrafted free agents Elbert Mack ($80,359) and Clifton Smith (64,808).

The league set aside about $3 million per team for the program. The money comes from league revenues which dont count against a teams cap.
