Buc Central’s: Final Mock

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers addressed the offense in free agency and there is a sense of urgency to get the defense back to a  respectable level after the late season collapse, look for new defensive coordinator Jim Bates to have a heavy influence on the draft. The team is looking to add a pass rusher, size in the interior of the defensive line, a corner with good ball skills along with another receiver to compete and give who ever becomes the starter under center another reliable redzone target.  Don’t rule out a running back in the mold of Earnest Graham and Derrick Ward as the team can’t afford to go into next season only being two deep at the position.

1. Everette Brown DE Florida State – Rare initial quickness, shows plenty of pass rush moves..dips his shoulder to under cut tackles, takes a good arc to the quarterback. uses not only speed but has a decent hump, rip & swim move to counter, 23 sacks & 46.5 tackles for loss, has a nak for creating turnovers 5 forced fumbles, 5 pass breakups.

3. Sammie Lee Hill DT Stillman – Has good quickness for his size, controls the point, uses good hand technique to disengage, can move the pocket, 17.5 sacks, 44.5 tackles for loss, 5 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries,  2 interceptions, 13 pass breakups.

4. Ramses Barden WR Cal Poly – Tall productive receiver, plucks the ball out of the air, giant redzone target, beats the jam at the LOS with sudden moves, has deceptive speed, 206 receptions, 4,203 yards & 50 touchdowns.

5. Joe Burnett CB Central Florida – Solid all around corner, sure handed, doubles as a returner, flair for making the big interception. Good closing speed, decent hip swivel, 16 interceptions, 35 pass breakups, 5 special teams touchdowns.

6. Jonathan Casillias OLB Wisconsin – Speedy linebacker, shows some pop, sideline to sideline player, scrappy, good man coverage skills, strong wrap up tackler, 28 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 3 blocked kicks.

7. Josh Vaughn RB Richmond – Good cutback runner, decent balance, willing blocker, good vision, as a senior rushed for 1,884 yards on 334 carries for a 5.6 yard per carry average and 20 touchdowns. Finished his career with 3,379 yards and 34 touchdowns, shows decent hands in the passing game with 46 catches for 369 yards and one score.

7. Marcus Bernard DE Jackson State – Decent triangle numbers, pass rush specialist, 23.5 sacks in 24 games.

7. Cornelius Lews OT Tennesse State – Displays heavy hands, decent intial quickness in pass pro, mauler, shows some nastieness, gets movement in the running game
