With the 17th overall selection in the first round, of the 2009 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select QB Josh Freeman

To move up two spots the Buccaneers gave the Browns the 19th overall selection along with a 2009 sixth round pick.

While this fanatic is not enamored, with the selection of Freeman, I understand the reasoning behind it. When you consider the team hasn’t gambled on a quarterback in the first round since the team drafted Trent Dilfer out of Fresno State in the first round of the 1994 draft.

Freeman does posses great raw ability, but his decision making and ability to carry a team have come under fire.

While there will be many a blogger crying about the selection of Freeman, until he shows one way other the other on the field, then they are just letting tears flow, for no other reason then it was not the player they wanted and refuse to look deeper into the selection. Many feel the main reason Gruden was fired was his inability to draft and develope a quarterback, now that the team drafts one some fans continue to bitch and moan.
