Wash on hand to see Texas pro day

by Roland Johnson on March 26, 2009

Buccaneers defensive line coach Todd Wash was on hand to take in the Longhorns pro day. With the Longhorns having two players that could potentially peak the teams interest in DT Roy Miller & DE Brian Orakpo.

Orakpo is projected to be a top 10 pick in next months draft. At 6’3 266 pounds he is well versed at rushing the passer and plays the run equally as well, but unless the team is planing on trading picks from 2010 it is very unlikely that Orakpo is going to fall all the way down to the 19th spot.

Miller has the size the team is looking for at 6’2 310 pounds. Miller is projected as a 7th round pick, but has seen his stock rise some over the last few weeks. Most scouting reports agree that Miller uses good pad level and good leg drive. He also anchors well against double teams. So it is a fair bet the team was doing there due diligence on Orakpo, but was more interested in Miller seeing as the team has a huge need at defensive tackle.
